Welcome our New Director of St. Benedict's Ministries

Dear Friends of The Benedictine Way,

Below is a  short video I hope you will take a look at. In it we tell you about Gage Woodyard and his work with us in the newly created position of Director of St. Benedict’s Ministries. We’ve raised most of the salary for this position, but are asking you to help us finish the goal. Our ministries (food pantry, two urban gardens, St. Benedict’s Table – a meal program) continue to grow and Gage has been a tremendous part of that growth.

- Brother James Dowd, OSB

“I can't begin to find the words to describe how excited I am to be continuing and expanding my work with St. Benedict's Ministries. A little over a year ago I was appointed the director of a new food pantry created because of the COVID-19 pandemic. I thought I would be doing that for a year and then move on to something else. I was ecstatic when Brother James came to me and asked if I had thought about continuing as an employee for The Benedictine Way. He explained to me his vision for the expansion and evolution of St. Benedict's Pantry and St. Benedict's Garden, and the addition of St. Benedict's Table, and got me motivated to make his vision come to fruition because I saw it as the right way to bring the love of Christ to this neighborhood.”

“I am so excited to be a part of these important ministries going forward whether that be asking people how they're doing, weeding and harvesting in the garden, or dining with neighbors. I look forward to the future of St. Benedict's Ministries and how they will grow and affect the surrounding community.”
